My guildies noticed that when you switch toons by using the new feature of not logging out is also when you drop from the Guild online/offline status screen.

Just throwing in my observation too since it ties into the bugs with the Guild List.

There also seems to be a problem with the friendslist. A guildmate got my(!) friendslist uploaded from the server. Happened at least twice during the last 24h. After relogging things got back to normal and he had back his list.

Sunday between 1600 and 1800 I recall several attempts to get in RA. First I was trying to enter, which ended up in a failure (i forgot the error, sorry about that). I tried to log in and out, and to restart the program but the problem persisted for some 5-10 minutes. After I was able to log in and join matches.

Disconnection with error 40,13,07:

Friday 9th All day
Saturday 10th All day
Sunday 11th All day
Again Friday 16th evening (GMT)
Sunday 18th in the afternoon (GMT)

Guild issues

All week, got really bad again this weekend, people showing offline, reset thru putting status offline and back on again. However several people had to reset three four times each day.

Also lost guild thursday 8th and friday 9th, no guild, no members, no tag.

Appreciate the apology for the 'inconvenience', with all this shinanegans we have lost 7 new guild members (came to empty unavailable offline guildhall, laughed at our comment about active and left) and over last two weeks 10 old guild members (they are now playing WoW)...it is not easy to find good players and then hold onto them especially with these technical issues.

You dont mention the lagging that seems to be part of this, it makes the game virtually unplayable. I am using a powerful comp with the best graphics card on the market with a 16mb connect, fully defragged, so it aint me...

I Love, love this game, but if you dont sort this out fairly soon alot of people will just stop playing. You cant have failed to notice less people logging into the event, 14 english districts compared to the last canthan festival when it was in the 60's. European players are feeling like second class citizens and for want of a better phrase 'abandoning' the game.

Appreciate the apology, but really just want it fixed.

1. Disconnects when you are in an area for 3 hours, nearing the end and then the new feature wont reconnect you...

2. No Guildhall effectively, last night was horrendous, 10-12 players showing as offline, get the nark with us for not being invited to PvP.

3. Lagging - it is really bad.

Sorry to go on but I am really angry at the poor server provision. There is a thread in technical section on guru headed error 40 or something, sorry I am not very techie so dont know how to link, but people have put their times and problems there.

I do agree on this matter above, the same was for my Guild last night, but I have to admit that the lag seems to affect more of my British friends then it did to me.

I also came online last night to see only 3 online members while in fact there were allot more playing, my friends based in the UK could not play DOA because of major lag and this is not a new issue.

Now I was wondering why we had so many problems lately and I was wondering about this :

1. Many Americans play on Euro servers because we favor all the time, now I am not one who has a problem with playing together with the yanks, but if it affects my gameplay then Areanet needs to do something about it.

2. Way to many events and changes to the game! I mean I do like the events and everything but does it really have to be every week? Let us just play the game again and don't try to lure people into the game on weekends because we do play, events or not!

1. Not nearly as many as you might think.

2. It's to lure new people in, not existing ones.

Anyway, as to the problems already mentioned in this thread, our guild has had first hand experience with the status bug - as has been previously said, it can be remedied by switching your status in the friends list, but that isn't the full extent of the problem we have encountered. The worst thing that has happened, (aside from the 'guildless' bug, more on that in a bit,) is guild chat and alliance chat routinely lagging and even sometimes ceasing to function altogether, not to mention the guild roster not updating when people come online or go offline/change characters, etc.

Now, as for disconnects, I live in GB, as does most of my guild - we have a few from Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands as well. Suffice to say, the only code 40 anyone got yesterday was me, around 20:00 GMT, while i was trying to change characters just before the event, which is understandable.

Lastly, the 'guildless' bug. What I have seen of this, really, very annoying bug suggests to me that it is a bug that is area-centric, that is to say it seems far more common in certain areas and instances, (Shing Jea Monastery and Kaineng Center are prime examples of areas where the bug will persist.) Usually, I find, the guild will load after a few minutes of being in an area or instance, but sometimes, especially in those two areas, it will not go away.

Anyway, I hope that provides some useful info for you guys.

I can confirm that. On saturday on every visit to Shing Jea I "lost" my guild. Cape and info came back after some minutes, but guildchat was still "teh borked". My messages had 30s+ lag or never appeared while messages from guildmates were displayed without problems. When leaving Shing Jea, for example into an explorable area, everything was back ok right when finished loading.

Guildmembers named for example:
"Guildmemberguy" who have another character named euh: "othercharacter"

When they swap from Guildmemberguy to Othercharacter, it sometimes happens that Guildmemberguy still is shown in the list while they're on Othercharacter. This means you can't whisper them from the list.

Got several disconnects last days and one time I came on and was a member of another guild omg. This is weird as I'm the leader of a guild. I logged off and back on and everything was normal again.

I got dc and cannot get back into the game anymore.

Tells me err58 but everything seems to work fine on my end.
Disregard this if I'm the only guy with this problem.

What bothers me though is that I can't cash in my tokens now since event ends in like 4 hours and I haven't been able to log in for like 30 minutes now.

If you have details, like when you were dropped, if you were able to reconnect right away (or how long you had to try before you could reconnect), please post those details here. (Could you please include your general location?) Writing to your region's Support address may also be quite helpful, as they could then ask you for specifics that help them nail down the cause of this issue. Again, I did want to let you know we're tracing the difficulty, and will continue to work to resolve this as soon as possible. Our apologies for the inconvenience!
This problem has been on and off for best part of a week now. Mostly code 040 after trying to leave a outpost or enter a new zone. After you got the initial error it was taking anything from 2 to 30 mins to get back in. Each time we tried (all our guild members on teamspeak) we could get to the character selection screen but once we chose a character GW would time out with a code 040 as we tried to connect to the last outpost we were in.

Yesterdays problem was a little different. Everyone just stopped dead where they stood and got kicked a few moments later with a code 040. Then we could reconnect almost straight away. We are mostly based in the UK, with one guy in France, and we all timed out together.

On a network problem related note, could you please comment on the 'Rubberbanding' problem that is plaguing both PVE and PVP. This seem to be increasing as much as the connection issues. I started a thread about this problem, which has had 3000+ views and 90+ replies from people getting the same problems. But sadly we have had no comment from ANet regarding the issue. If it's recognised as a problem by them and if we can expect any sort of fix, if of course a fix is possible. So as we're bringing up network issues I hoped maybe we could get some word on this one too.

Also people in my guild have noticed they have been playing on IP adresses based in america for the duration of the event, its been giving really bad lag issues in GvG.

I think its safe to say european servers are not loved.

I've been getting a similar problem: if I change account without closing GW, I get a friendlist that is the union of both accounts lists. Anyone that is not normally on that particular accounts list shows as "Online" irrespective of their actual status.

I can 2nd this. It seems whenever someone logs out using the Switch Characters option they continue to be shown offline. However if you still do the log out and re-enter password there is no problem.

The friends list is definitely based on a second server from the games server. I've had several occaisions where my contact list (and also the guild list) has been disconnected while in game. Sometimes you'll get a pop up saying youve been discod from the contacts server and would you like to reconnect and sometimes not. Always when the contacts list is acting up so does the guild roster. This weekend however while not having any popups stating that I'd lost contact with the frinds list server, both the contact list as well as the guild roster were showing folks as online who were not and vice versa. Perhaps its just a connection issue but it does seem widespread enough to warrant a look at the more recent updates if any on the contacts server. I'm on American servers btw if that helps. The new log to character select screen does indeed fit the bug and is a good idea for first catch.

luckely i wasn't planning to do anything "network intensive" the comming period

too bad i couldn't get the full racing beetle experience because of the lag /syncing / rubberbanding though

Default Problem with Friends List

I've been experiencing the same thing with my Friends List. I have two accounts and when I log in to each of my accounts, each account's Friends List get mixed-up with the other hence making each Friends List full, more than what is allowed and I won't be able to delete or add a friend's name.

Here in Finland we have had a lot of troubles lately. Couple of days we needed to cancel our gvg's becouse of major "not logging in" problems. I have been so busy irl that i havent put days into diary but lets say that 4 days now without that big problems. Usually it is err 040, 015 or 013. And most of the time guild problem is related to these days too, when u happen to get in after half an hour trying u will be guildless and not being able to travel to gh. sometimes only couple of players are unable to get in but others like 10 are having guild problems.

FRUSTATING, pls do something.
